Let's look at a hypothetical example where a member of Defence buys a Tesla Model 3 RWD with a purchase price of $66,100.
As you can see, the potential savings over a 5-year lease with running costs included are massive.
The calculation assumes a driver in NSW with an annual pre-tax salary of $120,000, a car loan interest rate of 7.5% p.a. and car running costs (insurance, registration, servicing and tyres) based on 15,000kms annually. The vehicle is eligible for the FBT exemption for zero and low emission vehicles.
